statement

Marianne Holm Hansen works across media to explore how we come to experience things as we do. Specifically, she is interested in how the effects and affects of [lived] experience inform interpretation and the making of meaning. To this extent, her work divergently explores how memory is formed, how it is manifested or represented, and how alternative representations may bring about change.

'Circular Walks' is her most recent work to explore the relationship between repetition and experience. It employs drawing to consider how the impact of a repeated situation in relation to a particular site can be communicated - understood, or at least made visible - through automatic, aesthetically informed and/or rule-based drawings.
