statement

The most recent layered drawings react to multicultural environment I found myself place into a confluence of several cultures, which creates unique environment of symbols, histories, emotions and personal stories. Indian Series capture ethos and colors of enchanting but at the same time chaotic and complex India. They reflect my post-modern comprehension of an ancient civilization. The endlessly overlapping half-circle ornament used in drawings originates from peacock motif often used in henna wedding tattoos in Northern India. The colors used in drawings refer to the bright and rich atmosphere of Indian environment. These drawings are an analysis of personal history and attempt to understand the world so distant from my own.
