statement

Historically, artists work in search for self-identity. In my search for self-identity, I have come to learn that sexuality plays a large role in how I see myself and in turn, how I present myself. My goal is to create sensual images of my body that arouse the senses and indicate desires.

However, I am not society's typical media produced form of sexual desire. Therefore, allowing the viewer access to my flesh takes a large amount of bravery. Every time I work on my drawings, I consider the amount of privacy I am letting the audience in on. Deciding to be exposed and, as a result, allowing myself to be vulnerable is empowering. I am proud to share the flesh I have carved fervently into the picture plane. Through drawing, I am owning my identity.
